Corset Test Boring

These bits feature natural diamonds superficially set in a matrix of metal powders. As each diamond removes material, it undergoes natural wear that causes it to lose its sharpness. When all diamonds have lost their cutting effectiveness, the bit has reached the end of its life. For this reason, these are bits suitable for cutting from soft to medium-hard materials. They are available in different diamond grit sizes and various profiles, depending on the material to be drilled. Water, sometimes supplemented with polymers, is needed to cool the tip and remove debris. Air can be used with a particular type of diamond, called Carbons.
